The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe painting dates to the first half of the 17th. century and is by Giovan Mauro della Rovere, known as Fiammenghino, a painter working in Milan at the end of the 16th. and beginning of the 17th. centuries. The painting, in clear Mannerist style, depicts a page holding a thurible, a priest holding the Child, Mary, kneeling, Joseph with a candle and a woman holding a cage with two doves in the foreground. Behind them, there is a crowd of people in brightly coloured garments. The architectonic background, barely glimpsed, gives depth to the scene<\/span><\/p>\n

The Confessional<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe walnut confessional was made in Neo-Gothic style by local craftsmen, at the end of the 19th. century.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Funeral Monument of Felice Biella<\/span><\/strong>
\nFelice Biella was a jurisconsult and minister under Napoleon and became President of the Civil Court under Austrian rule. The sculptor. Francesco Somaini, was commissioned to create the work which he completed in 1841. It is in Neo-Classical style with slight Romantic influence, above all in the expressive details of the figure of Biella. The monument has a double, rectangular base on which the funerary casket is positioned, supported by two lions, couchant. It is decorated with geometric patterns and above this, the sculpture of the deceased, lying in doctoral robes, can be seen.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nA Madonna and Child, a fresco by an unknown painter at the beginning of the 16th. century and previously situated in the square in front of the church, was detached and brought into Carmine in 1653 to preserve it when various buildings were demolished.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
