Devotion to the Santo Niño (Holy Child), an image of Jesus as a small boy typically dressed as a king, is a major part of the Philippine Catholic life.
The celebrations of the Feast of Santo Niño in San Carlo in S. Maria del Carmine Church have been an annual tradition.
